STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT IN ACCOMMODATION BUSINESSES: THE CASE OF NORTH CYPRUS

Strategy is the plans adopted by top management to successfully achieve the goals and missions of the organization. The strategic approach includes: an end goal, strategic choice, vision and mission, along with policies and plans. Today, a company that does not make strategic planning and resource optimization cannot be successful and cannot maintain its position in the market. Before adopting any strategy for the tourism sector, a strategic analysis is required to identify the internal strengths and weaknesses of the sector and the opportunities and threats that exist in the environment. The methodologies used in strategic management research are complex and involve the collection and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data. They found that a conceptual definition of strategic management includes seven components: strategic initiatives, managers and owners, resources, internal organization, environment, firms, and performance. The strategic management process is a very important concept for the accommodation enterprises involved in accommodation tourism to be more prepared for the unknown in the future. Within the scope of this article, strategic management studies used in accommodation establishments will be discussed through literature studies conducted within the framework of the Northern Cyprus example
