Abstract

In recent years, emerging markets have offered significant opportunities in the tourism sector due to their increasing influence on economic systems and have become one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing segments of the global economy. This study aims to examine the impact of emerging markets on travel agencies by addressing the opportunities and challenges faced by agencies operating in these markets. Developing economies such as China, India, Brazil, Türkiye, South Africa, and Southeast Asian countries have experienced a substantial increase in international travel demand as a result of population growth, the expansion of the middle class, and rising disposable income levels. In this context, the roles of travel agencies are undergoing transformation, with digital reservation systems, mobile applications, and social media marketing gaining prominence. Following the pandemic, the growing demand for sustainable tourism and local experiences has compelled travel agencies to restructure their business models. However, risks such as structural weaknesses and political instability remain. In conclusion, emerging markets present both significant potential and a dynamic environment that requires strategic innovation in travel agency operations.
